Kals - Stüdlhütte - Großglockner - Kleinglockner -
Adlersruhe - Stüdlhütte - Kals
The Großglockner is the highest mountain of Austria and is
therefore very often visited, mostly via the normal route from
the Adlersruhe (Erzherzog Johann hütte), just under the top.

ALTITUDE DIFFERENCES,
TIMING AND
RATING
From the parking over a good path to the Stüdlhütte,
6 km for +1180 m taking about 3h30.
From the hut to the top over the Stüdlgrat (SW ridge),
mostly II with some passages of
III, in good granite.
Numerous securing hooks and climbing aids are in place.
The ridge would be presumably be rated
AD in the Mt Blanc region.
Descent via the normal route, presumably to be rated
PD until 3500 m
and F further down.
About +1030 m of which nearly +600 m in the ridge.
